Redi-Flex supplies essential joint-active nutrients that are commonly lacking in a horse’s normal feed ration to help naturally protect, maintain and repair joint and cartilage structures.

Redi-Flex includes glucosamine for health and function of cartilage and total joint integrity.  Vitamin C and Vitamin E are powerful antioxidants for synovial fluid and collagen health.  Extra levels of organic chelated copper, zinc and manganese to help modulate joint repair processes.  Organic sulfur (MSM) provides natural anti-inflammatory nutrients.

Redi-Flex also includes amino acids specific for collagen and cartilage nourishment and regeneration to benefit the entire joint structure.  Natural silicon helps to ensure flexibility and elasticity of joints, ligaments and tendons.

Redi-Flex does not contain chondroitin, as this large and complex molecule is broken down during digestion and is not effective either alone or combined with glucosamine.  Our own double-blind studies on aging racehorses conclusively proved that, as found in human studies, chondroitin did not have any beneficial action in improving joint function or health.

Redi-Flex is not a full ration balancer and other nutrients are commonly required for general health and vitality, thus it is recommended to feed a general daily nutritional supplement, such as Kohnke’s Own Cell-Provide, Cell-Vital or Cell-Perform, relative to the exercise level of your horse.

Redi-Flex supplies nutrients which are often inadequate in common equine diets.  Redi-Flex contains a high potency form of vitamin C as well as glucosamine, which are specially chosen for their benefits to joint activity.

This targeted action is further proven by our extensive research trials, in which horse owners rated changes in their horses related to many different factors of equine health, including hoof health, coat health, immune health and digestive function.  Although individual horses varied, the most consistent and significant results reported highly improved joint health and function.

In our extensive field trial over 2 years with more than 60 horses, Redi-Flex showed significant results in improving joint health and function.  Most horse owners said that they noticed the first initial changes to their horses after 14 days on Redi-Flex.  This was mainly observed as ‘more willingness to move’ in the paddock and during ridden work.

We recommend to start on the initial supplementation rate for the most rapid and effective result in all types of horses.  The length of time you provide the initial supplementation amount depends on the degree of your horse’s joint wear and tear, current exercise level and severity of joint change.  For example, a moderately worked horse without major joint issues may not need the initial supplementation rate for more than the first 4 weeks to obtain an excellent benefit, before reducing to the daily maintenance level for economy.

However, for horses with very high joint concussive force loading, such as racing and high performance horses, the initial supplementation amount is safe and suitable for long term daily use to help maintain optimum joint function and performance.

Many joint supplements are based on formulations of a single active ingredient, or a simple 2-3 ingredient mix. Whilst this may provide some of the necessary nutrition, the best way to gain maximum benefit and biological efficacy is by taking advantage of ‘synergy’ through the use of multiple active ingredients with separate but compatible and supportive modes of action. In this way, concentrations of each ingredient can be standardised and the targeted results are more easily achieved in many different horses.
