Supplementation Guidelines

Application Guidelines:

Thoroughly wet the coat, mane and tail. Apply a thin layer of cream shampoo to the mane, backline and tail, or alternatively mix approximately 10 mL shampoo per litre of luke-warm water, usually 3-6 litres depending on the size of the horse. Gently massage or sponge to create a cleansing foam, working the lather through the mane and tail, and over the head and body. Leave heavily soiled, scurfy or stained areas, including a matted mane and tail, to soak for 2-3 minutes.

Rinse out with a running water. The tail can be washed and rinsed in a bucket. Scrape excess water from the coat and underbelly. Comb out the mane and tail while still damp,and groom the coat once dry.

Avoid applying to the mane or tail butt area within 24 hours prior to plaiting as the in-built conditioner may reduce the hold of the hair.

Our Concept for Kleen Sheen

Foam, Not Soap

Kleen-Sheen is a concentrated shampoo with a built-in conditioner which provides a deep clean and removes stains but does not strip essential oils from the coat. It has an advanced gentle foaming action to remove scurf and dirt, rather than harsh soaps or detergents. Kleen-Sheen is also biodegradable.

Low Water Rinse Out

Kleen-Sheen will save at least 60% of the water normally used to shampoo and rinse your horse, compared to traditional ‘soapy’ products. All you need to do is to wet the horse, apply a small amount of Kleen-Sheen along the topline, mane and tail, gently massage it to activate the foam, then rinse off the topline and allow the water to run down the sides to carry the foam which cleans as it moves through the coat. Only one pass of the hose is necessary to rinse the body of the horse.

Kleen-Sheen is a popular shampoo to use on dogs, show sheep, prize-winning cattle and other animals. It is not recommended for use on cats. It is also excellent for washing the car, float or horse truck!
