BCS
Designed for elite equine athletes, BCS supports the integrity and
elasticity of collagen-rich tissues, including lungs, tendons, and ligaments.

lung health and reduce the incidence and severity of exercise-induced
pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH), a major issue in racehorses and high-
performance horses.
✔ Enhances Tendon & Ligament Strength – Provides essential nutrients
to maintain the elasticity, integrity, and resilience of collagen-rich tissues
under high athletic stress.
✔ Optimized for Elite Equine Athletes – Designed for racehorses and
performance horses subjected to intense training, repetitive stretching,

Which Horses Benefit?
- Racing horses (gallopers and harness horses) in training or regular racing
- Horses that have previously ‘bled from the lungs’, those which seem to ‘hit the wall’ in the final straight of a race or cannot maintain the sprint to the finish.
- Horses diagnosed to have EIPH or visible signs of lung bleeding post-race as a helpful supportive supplement in combination with medicinal treatments and rest during recovery.
- Racehorses and Equestrian horses in moderate to intense training with previous ligament or tendon tears or weakness which may impact soundness.
- Horses competing in high intensity sports which may lead to failure, fatigue or overload of elastic tissues in the lungs, tendons or ligaments.
Major Ingredients
BCS is formulated to make up the shortfalls of specific nutrients in grain, processed feeds and hay commonly fed to racing and performance horses. Long term storage of grains, chaff and hays, as well as heat processing of feed ingredients in commercial packaged feed, may damage key nutrients involved in the maintenance of collagen tissue.
- BCS provides supplementary vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamin B6 for collagen health and function
- Trace-minerals including copper, zinc and manganese. BCS features these important nutrients in premium, potent and bioavailable forms, such as organic protein chelates, for optimum uptake, absorption and utilisation.
- BCS also provides a source of vitamin C, which in conjunction with the other nutrients, has a role in maintaining the normal structural integrity and function of collagen and elastic tissues in the lungs, tendons and ligaments.
- BCS is presented as a palatable powder with a subtle vanilla flavour.
- BCS does not swab or contain banned substances and does not contravene the Rules of Racing or FEI Competition. This product is a nutritional supplement to support the health and well-being of a horse. It does not artificially enhance the performance of racing or competition horses. Rules prohibiting the use of any pre-race supplements within 24 hours of racing should be followed if applicable in the local jurisdiction.

Our Concept for BCS
Bleeding in the Lungs
While up to 90% of flat racing gallopers and harness racing horses bleed
in the lungs after a race, only 2% of these horses show visible signs of
blood in the nostrils. The most common sign of EIPH is failure to finish or
adequately perform due to reduced oxygen uptake and repeated ‘bleeds’
can result in severe lower airway damage.
Tendon Stability and Strength
BCS was originally developed and field tested by Kohnke’s Own to help
reduce the incidence and severity of bleeding in the lungs, however
feedback from horse trainers also revealed a positive effect in tendon
and ligament strength and rehabilitation, even after a previous strain or
injury.
No Banned Substances
BCS does not swab or contain banned substances and does not
contravene the Rules of Racing or FEI Competition, but rules prohibiting
the use of any pre-race supplements within 24 hours of racing should be
followed if applicable in the local jurisdiction.
